Sanderson Farms Championship: PGA Tour Bets, Predictions, Odds 10/5/23

This week, the PGA Tour travels to Mississippi for the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship.

The 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship will be played at the Country Club of Jackson in Jackson, Mississippi. The golf course is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,461 yards. In my opinion, this track can best be described as a resort style golf course that will be vulnerable to low scores. Additionally, the Country Club of Jackson will present this week’s field with rather generous large fairways and bermuda grass greens.

The key player statistics that I will be looking at this week are: strokes gained putting, strokes gained approach, GIR (greens in regulation), and birdie or better percentage.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Eric Cole ranks fifth in strokes gained approach, first in birdie or better percentage, and seventh in strokes gained tee to green.

In summary, I am backing Eric Cole to post a top five finish at odds of +450.

Three weeks ago, Peter Malnati fired a third round 66 at the 2023 Fortinet Championship en route to an eventual 11th place result.

Due to the fact that Peter Malnati performed so well at the 2023 Fortinet Championship I decided to take a hard look at the player statistics for the event to see how Malnati performed relative to the field. Relative to the field at the 2023 Fortinet Championship, upon completion of four rounds of competitive golf, Malnati ranked fourth in strokes gained around the green (4.1) and 11th in strokes gained putting (4.2).
