This week, the LPGA Tour travels to Shiga, Japan for the 2022 TOTO Japan Classic.
Before I discuss my favorite tournament matchup bet for the TOTO Japan Classic let’s take a look at the top five players in scoring average on the LPGA Tour that are in this week’s field.
- Atthaya Thitikul 69.43
- Minjee Lee 69.48
- Hye-Jin Choi 69.53
- Nasa Hataoka 69.81
- Lilia Vu 70.17
Now that we have determined who the top five golfers with regard to scoring average are on the LPGA Tour (in this week’s field) let’s shift our attention to my favorite tournament matchup bet for this week’s 2022 TOTO Japan Classic.
Ayaka Furue -110 over Linn Grant
Ayaka Furue certainly checks the box for me when it comes to current form. Let me be more specific. Since the beginning of October, Ayaka Furue has played five tournaments (LPGA and JLPGA Tours combined). In those five events just noted, Ayaka Furue has accumulated four top 20 finishes, including an impressive win at the 2022 Fujitsu Ladies Championship two weeks ago.
Ayaka Furue is currently ranked 11th in driving accuracy (82.84%) and 13th in total birdies made (289) on the LPGA Tour.
It should also be noted that Ayaka Furue won the 2021 TOTO Japan Classic.
