Women's International Golf: Tokyo Olympics

This week, the golf betting community will be presented with the Tokyo Olympics Women’s Golf Tournament.
Before I discuss my favorite golf bets for this week’s Women’s International Golf Event in Tokyo, Japan let’s take a look at the unique format of this week’s event and briefly discuss the golf course the field will play.
The women’s golf event at the Tokyo Olympic Games will not be played like your average event on the LPGA Tour. How will it be different? Well, let’s dive into the details. The Tokyo Olympics women’s event will be a 72 hole individual stroke play tournament held over the course of four days (August 4-August 7). Unlike your standard LPGA Tour event, this tournament will not have a cut after two rounds. That means that all 60 golfers in this week’s field will play all four rounds.
The Tokyo Olympics Women’s Golf Tournament will be played at the Kasumigaseki Country Club (East Course) in Saitama, Japan. This track is a par 72 that measures approximately 6,488 yards. This golf course will present this week’s field with tree lined fairways and green complexes that feature bentgrass greens. It should also be noted that this track has 66 bunkers that are strategically placed throughout the golf course.

Nelly Korda +700
The talented young American arrives at this week’s Tokyo Olympics Women’s Golf Tournament on the heels of four consecutive top 19 finishes on the LPGA Tour, including two wins (2021 Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give, 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship).
Korda also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Korda is currently ranked tenth in driving distance (273.78), 16th in GIR greens in regulation-75%), and first in scoring average (68.89) on the LPGA Tour.

Danielle Kang +400
The 28 year old American arrives in Japan in outstanding form. Kang has played seven events on the LPGA Tour since the beginning of May. In those seven tournaments just mentioned, Kang has accumulated five top 13 finishes, including a fifth place result at the 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
Kang is currently ranked first in putting average (28,71), ninth in scoring average (70.02), and 12th in total birdies made (186) on the LPGA Tour.
It should also be noted that Kang has performed at a high level when the lights are shining the brightest in the past. The American won the 2017 Women’s PGA Championship.
