World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba

This week, the PGA Tour travels to Mexico for the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba.

Before I dive into my favorite golf bet for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a player’s success at this week’s World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba.

The World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba will be played at the El Camaleon Golf Club. This golf course is a par 71 that measures 7,034 yards. This course is a tree-lined coastal track that offers small green complexes. This event has been played at the El Camaleon Golf Club every year since 2007. It should also be noted that this track is a Greg Norman design.

The key player statistics I will be focusing on this week are driving accuracy, GIR (greens in regulation), strokes gained approach, and scrambling.

Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite golf bet for this week’s World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top five.

Billy Horschel +350

The 35 year old American arrives at this week’s tournament in rather good form. More specifically, Billy Horschel has accumulated three consecutive top ten finishes (PGA and DP World Tours combined), including a seventh place result at the CJ CUP in South Carolina

Billy Horschel certainly checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. Since 2018, Horschel has played this week’s PGA Tour event four times. In those four tournaments just mentioned, Billy Horschel has accumulated three top 21 finishes, including a fifth place result at the 2020 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba.

In summary, I am backing Billy Horschel to top five at odds of +350.
