ZOZO Championship: Second Round Matchup Bets, Odds 10/19/23

This Thursday evening, the second round of the 2023 ZOZO Championship will begin.

Before I dive into my favorite second round macthup bets for this week’s tournament let’s take a look at the top five golfers in GIR (greens in regulation) on the PGA Tour (with that player’s GIR percentage noted) that are in the 2023 ZOZO Championship field.

Top Five Golfers in GIR (Greens in Regulation)

1. Collin Morikawa 70.85%

2. Dylan Wu 70.31%

3. Aaron Rai 69.75%

4. Will Gordon 69.70%

5. Vincent Norman 69.62%

Now that we have identified who the top five golfers in GIR (greens in regulation) are on the PGA Tour (in this week’s field) let’s shift our focus to my favorite second round matchup bets for the 2023 ZOZO Championship.

Beau Hossler -125 over Tom Hoge

Beau Hossler has accumulated two top 20 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh place result at last week’s 2023 Shriners Children’s Open.

Additionally, Beau Hossler finished 16th at the 2022 ZOZO Championship.

Joel Dahmen -105 over Thomas Detry

The talented American arrives at this week’s event in rather good form. More specifically, Joel Dahmen has accumulated two conseuctive top 13 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 13th place result at the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship two weeks ago.

Joel Dahmen also finished eighth at the 2020 ZOZO Championship.

In summary, I am backing Joel Dahmen to defeat Thomas Detry at odds of -105.
