The Lotte Giants look for a win after losing eight of their last 15 games. The Lotte Giants offense has produced five or more runs in six straight games. In the latest effort, Dixon Machado and An Chi-hong combined for six hits and two RBI while Dan Straily allowed zero runs and two hits in eight innings of work. The Lotte Giants have lost 15 of their last 25 games overall. Adrian Sampson gets the ball tonight for the Lotte Giants.
The LG Twins need a victory here after losing eight of their last 11 games. The LG Twins pitching staff has allowed five or more runs in 16 of their last 22 games. In their last effort, Lee Hyung-jong and Oh Ji-hwan combined for two hits while Casey Kelly allowed two runs and seven hits in seven innings of work. The LG Twins have lost 19 of their last 33 games overall. Tyler Wilson gets the ball tonight for the LG Twins.
The LG Twins have won seven of the last 10 meetings against the Lotte Giants. Nine of the last 11 meetings between the Twins and Giants have produced single-digit run totals.
I don’t want to back either of these teams in their current form and I considered the over until I remembered past meetings between these clubs have been really low scoring. Sampson has a 5.44 ERA and 1.65 WHIP with 27 strikeouts in 41.1 innings. Wilson has a 4.48 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with 45 strikeouts in 64.1 innings. Wilson has been given the loss in each of his last three starts and Sampson has lost five of his eight starts in his KBO career. I’m not thrilled about this matchup, but I’d give the slight edge to the Giants because they’re playing slightly better baseball and are the more trustworthy team overall.
There’s much better betting options on Wednesday’s KBO card, but I’d take the Lotte Giants and the cheap price if forced to pick this contest.
