NC Dinos vs. KIA Tigers – 8/20/20 KBO Baseball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

2020-08-20 05:30:00 EDT

The KIA Tigers and NC Dinos meet Thursday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Gwangju Kia Champions Field.

The KIA Tigers need a victory after losing 10 of their last 17 games. The KIA Tigers pitching staff has allowed four or less runs in 28 of their last 50 games. In their last effort, Kim Min-sik and Choi Hyung-woo combined for three hits and one RBI while Lee Min-woo allowed five runs and eight hits in 3.1 innings of work. The KIA Tigers have won 30 of their last 53 games overall. Drew Gagnon gets the ball tonight for the KIA Tigers.

The NC Dinos need a win after losing 12 of their last 17 games. The NC Dinos have scored five or more runs in 24 of their last 42 games. In their last effort, Yang Eui-ji and Na Sung-bum combined for three hits and three RBI while Shin Min-hyuk allowed five runs and six hits in two innings of work. The NC Dinos have won 23 of their last 44 games overall. Mike Wright gets the ball tonight for the NC Dinos.

The KIA Tigers have won six of the last nine meetings against the NC Dinos, but those three losses came in the last four meetings. Six of the last nine meetings between the Tigers and Dinos have produced double-digit run totals.

Drew Gagnon has a 4.30 ERA and 1.41 WHIP this season through 88 innings, and he’s allowed three or more earned runs in three of his last six starts. Mike Wright has a 4.23 ERA and 1.41 WHIP this season through 93.2 innings, and he’s allowed three or more earned runs in each of his last four starts. This is a blah pitching matchup across the board, but the KIA Tigers have had recent success against the NC Dinos, and the Dinos aren’t a team I’m looking to back right now anyway. The NC Dinos look nothing like the team that was piling up the wins from all angles a few weeks ago.

In a near toss up game, I’ll take my chances with the KIA Tigers.
