The Dodgers have won 11 of their last 13 games when scoring four or more runs. Mookie Betts leads the Dodgers with 35 hits and 24 RBI while Corey Seager and Justin Turner have combined for 64 hits and 41 RBI. Dustin May gets the ball, and he is 1-1 with a 2.79 ERA and 20 strikeouts this season. This will be May’s first career game against the Rangers.

The Texas Rangers need a win after losing 10 of their last 11 games. The Rangers have scored seven runs in their last three games and three or less runs in five straight games. The Rangers have lost five of their last six games when scoring three or less runs. Nick Solak leads the Rangers with 28 hits and 11 RBI while Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Todd Frazier have combined for 48 hits and 12 RBI. Jordan Lyles gets the ball, and he is 1-3 with a 9.25 ERA and 16 strikeouts this season. Lyles is 0-3 with a 7.24 ERA and 31 strikeouts in his career against the Dodgers.

This is a clear pitching advantage for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and they have to be licking their chops when looking at Lyles’ numbers on the season. Lyles has walked 13 batters in 23.1 innings and has an issue keeping the ball in the park while allowing a .327 batting average. This is the Rangers pretty much giving away a victory.

The only way I can lean in this spot is backing the Dodgers and the RL for max value. I want not parts of the Rangers and can’t make a case for them here.
