Samsung Lions vs. Kiwoom Heroes – 8/29/20 KBO Baseball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Kiwoom Heroes and Samsung Lions meet Saturday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Gocheok Sky Dome.

The Kiwoom Heroes look for a win after winning 20 of their last 28 games. The Kiwoom Heroes have scored no less than five runs in 21 of their last 42 games. In their last effort, Kim Ha-seong and Kim Woong-bin combined for four hits and four RBI while Yoon Jung-hyun allowed four runs and 10 hits in 4.2 innings of work. The Kiwoom Heroes have won 24 of their last 37 games overall. Han Hyun-hee gets the ball tonight for the Kiwoom Heroes. 

The Samsung Lions need a victory here after losing 20 of their last 28 games. The Samsung Lions have allowed five or more runs in 16 of their last 28 games. In their latest effort, Kim Sang-su and Park Seung-gyu combined for two hits while Kim Dae-woo allowed three runs and six hits in 4.1 innings of work. The Samsung Lions have lost 25 of their last 37 games overall. David Buchanan gets the ball tonight for the Samsung Lions.  

The Kiwoom Heroes have won each of the last five meetings against the Samsung Lions. Five of the last 10 meetings between the Heroes and Lions have produced double-digit run totals.

Han Hyun-hee has a 5.91 ERA and 1.39 WHIP this season through 96 innings, and he’s allowed nine runs and nine hits in his last 9.2 innings. David Buchanan has a 3.75 ERA and 1.27 WHIP this season through 115.1 innings, and he’s allowed three runs and 17 hits in his last 20 innings. The Kiwoom Heroes have dominated the Lions this season and are obviously playing the better baseball, but we’re getting the better starting pitcher and the plus money in this series opener. Buchanan has been solid all season long and has pitched his best lately, and he’s also earned the win in each of his last three starts. No matter how well the Heroes are playing, Han Hyun-hee shouldn’t be favored here.
