Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers – 8/29/20 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

2020-08-29 19:05:00 EDT

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Texas Rangers meet in MLB action from Globe Life Field on Saturday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to bounce back from a 6-2 loss to the Rangers on Friday. Corey Seager went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI while Justin Turner had an RBI as well to finish off L.A.’s scoring as a team in the loss while Will Smith also chipped in a double. Mookie Betts, A.J. Pollock and Max Muncy all added base hits to finish off the Dodger offense in the defeat. Dustin May allowed two runs on five hits while striking out three over six innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Jake McGee ended up with the loss, falling to 2-1 on the year as a result. Ross Stripling will start here and is 3-1 with a 5.46 ERA and 24 strikeouts this season. This will be Stripling’s first career start against Texas.

The Texas Rangers will look to build off of their win over the Dodgers on Friday. Shin-Soo Choo and Nick Solak each had two hits with a double and two RBIs while Derek Dietrich added a solo home run and Jose Trevino added a base hit as well to finish off the Rangers’ scoring as a team in the win. Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Todd Frazier each had a 2 for 4 day at the dish while Scott Heineman and Leody Taveras each added a base knock to cap off Texas’ offense in the win. Mike Minor threw six shutout innings, allowing just four hits while striking out six, not factoring in the decision. Jonathan Hernandez got the win in relief to improve to 4-0 on the year. Lance Lynn will start here and is 4-0 with a 1.59 ERA and 50 strikeouts this season. In his career, Lynn is 3-1 with a 3.69 ERA and 47 strikeouts against the Dodgers.

Los Angeles is 38-18 in their last 56 road games and 8-2 in their last 10 games against the AL West while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 interleague games against a team with a losing record. Texas is 2-10 in their last 12 games overall and 1-5 in their last 6 games against the NL West while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 interleague games as an underdog.

I’d be lying if I said I’m a fan of Ross Stripling, as I just think he’s the most overpriced pitcher in the Dodgers’ rotation from a betting standpoint, as this is the first time in a couple of weeks where Stripling isn’t priced into the -200s. With that said, Stripling settled down in his last outing and Lance Lynn’s been locked in pretty much all season long, so I’ll side with the under as my free play for this game but my stronger pick is on the side and I have that available as a premium pick that you can find here.
