The Texas Rangers need a win here to prevent a rough 0-3 start to the season. The Rangers pitching staff has been rocked for 25 runs in their first two games and they’ve allowed double-digit runs in three of their last six games overall. The Rangers look to avoid their first 0-3 start since the 2017 season. David Dahl leads the Rangers with five hits while Jose Trevino and Joey Gallo have combined for seven hits and four RBI. Jordan Lyles gets the ball, and he was 1-6 with a 7.02 ERA and 36 strikeouts last season. Lyles is 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA and 10 strikeouts in his career against the Royals.
The Kansas City Royals look to complete the sweep and keep the offense red hot. The Royals have exploded for 25 runs in their first two games and have eight batters with at least two hits already this season. The Royals look to start 3-0 for the first time since 2015, the year they won the World Series. Whit Merrifield leads the Royals with five hits and six RBI while Kyle Isbel and Michael A. Taylor have combined for 10 hits and nine RBI. Brady Singer gets the ball, and he was 4-5 with a 4.06 ERA and 61 strikeouts last season. This will be Singer’s first career game against the Rangers.

While it’s just two games, the Texas Rangers pitching staff hasn’t had anybody who can cool down this Royals offense yet.
