Washington Nationals vs Atlanta Braves Game Two Doubleheader MLB Picks, Odds, Predictions 4/7/21

The Atlanta Braves and the Washington Nationals meet in game two of their double-header in MLB action from Nationals Pak on Wednesday.

The Atlanta Braves will be looking to rebound from a 6-5 loss to the Nats last time out. Ronald Acuna Jr. led the way, going 2 for 5 with a pair of home runs and three RBIs while Freddie Freeman and Dansby Swanson each did damage with the long ball as well. Marcell Ozuna, Austin Riley and Cristian Pache each had a base hit as well to finish off Atlanta’s offense in defeat. Drew Smyly allowed two runs on four hits with eight strikeouts over six innings, not factoring in the decision. Will Smith ended up with the loss to fall to 0-1 on the year. Huascar Ynoa will start here and is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA this season. This will be Ynoa’s second carer start against Washington.

The Washington Nationals will look to add another win to their column after the win over Atlanta last time out. Trea Turner had a home run and two RBIs while Jonathan Lucroy had a double and two RBIs as well. Andrew Stevenson and Juan Soto each had an RBI as well in the losing effort. Ryan Zimmerman went 2 for 4 while Hernan Perez, Starlin Castro and Victor Robles all had base hits as well in the victory. Max Scherzer allowed four runs on five hits with nine strikeouts, not factoring in the decision after six innings of work. Daniel Hudson got the win in relief to improve to 1-0 on the year. Stephen Strasburg will start here and was 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA and 2 strikeouts last season. In his career, Strasburg is 14-12 with a 4.07 ERA and 229 strikeouts against Atlanta.

It’s hard to say what we will treally see in this one especially without knowing how the double-header went. With that said, I trust Stephen Strasburg coming back from injury than I do Huascar Ynoa and I just think that the Braves get caught here, especially with the games being 7-inning affairs. I’ll back the Nationals behind Strasburg in this one.
