The Seattle Mariners and the Baltimore Orioles meet Tuesday in MLB action from Oriole Park.

This will be the second installment of a four-game series between these teams this week. The Monday opener was postponed due to weather, and will be made up prior to this matchup as part of a doubleheader. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Seattle played a weekend set versus the Twins, taking the Saturday and Sunday games after falling in the Thursday opener. In Sunday’s 8-6 victory, starter Chris Flexen got into some trouble during his five innings with five earned runs, but the offense bailed him out.

For the Tuesday game two, the Mariners will send out Nick Margevicius. So far this year Margevicius has two appearances under his belt, totaling 4.2 innings with four hits, four earned, two homers allowed, one walk, four strikeouts and a 7.71 ERA. He’s currently filling in for the injured James Paxton.

Over on the Baltimore side, they had a rough weekend against the Red Sox, falling in all three games for a sweep. On Sunday, the Orioles couldn’t get much of anything going until the later innings in a rough 14-9 loss. Starter Jorge Lopez put up 4.0 innings with eight hits, seven earned and four strikeouts.

For Tuesday’s game, the Orioles will send out Dean Kremer. This will be Kremer’s second start of the year. He went just three innings on April 6 versus the Yankees, giving up five hits, three earned and four walks with five Ks.

The Mariners are 22-47 in their last 69 games versus a left-handed starter and 2-5 in their last seven in game two of a series. Seattle is 12-32 in their last 44 Tuesday games and the under is 9-4 in their last 13 Tuesday games.

Meanwhile, Baltimore is 19-39 in their last 58 Tuesday games and 43-89 in their last 132 in game two of a series. The Orioles are 134-282 in their last 416 overall and the over is 4-1 in their last five Tuesday games.

PICK: I’m going to take the Orioles in this one. Seattle is likely going to be cautious with Margevicius as he fills in for Paxton, at least initially. We should see some bullpen action from the Mariners early. On the other side, Kremer had a rough go of things in his first start this year versus the Yankees, but he should match up better here. If the Orioles pen can hang in there I can see them being in position for a win.
