The Philadelphia Phillies will look to build on a 7-0 win over the New York Yankees in their last matchup. Jean Segura went 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs while Andrew McCutchen went 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. J.T. Realmuto also added two RBIs while Odubel Herrera had a pair of hits with a double and an RBI to round out the scoring for the Phillies in the win. Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm and Aaron Nola each had a base hit as well to finish off the offense for Philadelphia in the win. Nola got the win to improve to 5-4 on the year after throwing 7.2 shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out nine on the way to the win. Spencer Howard will start here and is 0-1 with a 4.61 ERA and 19 strikeouts this season. This will be Howard’s first career start against the Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to build on a 5-3 win over the Texas Rangers on Sunday. Zach McKinstry went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs while Mookie Betts had a solo home run. Gavin Lux had a double and an RBI while going 2 for 4 at the dish. Matt Beaty added an RBI as well to round out the scoring for the Dodgers in the win. Austin Barnes, Chris Taylor and Luke Raley each added a base hit as well to cap off the Dodger offense as a team in the winning effort. Walker Buehler got the win to improve to 6-0 on the year after tossing six shutout innings, giving up just five hits while striking out five on the way to the win. Kenley Jansen closed out the 9^th for his 15^th save of the year. Tony Gonsolin will start here and is 0-0 with a 5.40 ERA and 4 strikeouts this season. This will be Gonsolin’s first career start against the Phillies.

I get that the Dodgers are the Dodgers, but we’re getting heavy plus money with a Phillies team that just beat up on the Yankees and the Dodgers have not only not been the powerhouse Dodgers that we’re used to seeing, but Tony Gonsolin isn’t the easiest pitcher to back and is not one that I’m looking to back at this price. I’ll take a shot with Philadelphia here.
