The Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs meet Tuesday in MLB action from Wrigley Field. This will be the second installment in a quick two-game set between these teams this week. In the Monday opener, the Indians secured a shutout win. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Cleveland played three games versus the Pirates over the weekend, losing the first pair before getting a Sunday win 2-1. In the Monday game versus the Cubs, the Indians notched two runs in the fifth during a 4-0 shutout victory. Aaron Civale put up 4.2 innings with three hits and no earned.
For the starter job in the Tuesday game, the Indians will send out Eli Morgan. Over two starts and 6.1 innings so far this year, Morgan is 0-1 with a 12.79 ERA and a 2.37 WHIP.

Over on the Cubs’ side, they also lost their first two games versus the Marlins over the weekend before a Sunday win 2-0. In the Monday game, Chicago couldn’t score on six hits during the loss. Adbert Alzolay managed 4.2 innings with three earned on three hits.

For the starter job in the Tuesday game, the Cubs are going with Kyle Hendricks. Over 80.2 innings this year Hendricks has 88 hits, 41 runs (37 earned), 19 homers, 17 walks, 65 Ks and a 4.13 ERA.

The Indians are 10-4 in their last 14 in game two of a series and 36-15 in their last 51 Tuesday games. Cleveland is 13-41 in their last 54 interleague road games versus a team with a winning record and the over is 4-0-1 in Cleveland’s last five in game two of a series

Meanwhile, the Cubs are 4-1 in their last five Tuesday games and 21-7 in their last 28 home games. Chicago is 35-16 in their last 51 at home with a total of 7.0-8.5 and the under is 41-20-1 in their last 62 Tuesday games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with the Cubs. Hendricks is doing well over his past two games, with two earned on five hits and nine Ks in 12.0 innings between them. He’s gone 7-0 with a 2.54 ERA in his last seven starts. As for Morgan, he gave up three runs across 3.2 innings in his last start and will probably last around four frames here. I like Hendricks to keep it going and help Chicago get a W.
