The Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets meet Wednesday in MLB action from Citi Field. This will be the final installment in a four-game series between these teams this week. After a split in the first pair, in Tuesday’s game the Braves secured a shutout win. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

In game one of the Monday doubleheader versus the Mets, Atlanta fell 4-2 before coming back in the nightcap for a 1-0 victory. In game three Tuesday, the Braves scored all their runs in the third, posting a 3-0 shutout win.

For the starter job in the Wednesday game, the Braves were going to send out Max Fried but he’s headed to the IL. (Fried has a finger blister.) Instead it will be Kyle Wright. This year Wright holds a 4.15 ERA with five strikeouts.

Over on the Mets’ side, they played a solid opener game on Monday but couldn’t find much offense in game two despite five hits. In the Tuesday game, New York notched just two hits on the night. Yennsy Diaz put up 2.0 innings with three earned on three hits and two walks.

For the Wednesday game, the Mets will send out prospect Tylor Megill in the start. He’ll be filling the rotation spot of Joey Lucchesi, who unfortunately will have to undergo Tommy John surgery this week.

The Braves are 5-1 in their last six in game four of a series and 0-4 in their last four Wednesday games. The over is 13-6-2 in the Braves’ last 21 in game four of a series and 7-3 in their last 10 versus a team with a winning record.

Meanwhile, the Mets are 5-1 in their last six Wednesday games and 20-7 in their last 27 home games. New York is 5-1 in their last six at home versus a lefty starter and 38-16 in their last 54 at home versus a team with a losing record.

PICK: I’m likely going to stick with the Braves in this one. Not having Fried on the mound is a tough blow to Atlanta, but if Wright can post four or five quality innings the Braves should still be okay. Wright put up 4.1 innings with three hits, one homer, two walks and two earned in his only appearance this year April 16 versus the Cubs. A line like that would probably be more than acceptable here.
