The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox meet in an AL East division matchup in MLB action from Fenway Park on Saturday.

The New York Yankees will look to bounce back from a 6-2 loss at the hands of the Red Sox on Friday night. Rougned Odor and Brett Gardner each had a double and an RBI to make up the scoring for the Yankees in the winning effort. Chris Gittens, Gleyber Torres, Giancarlo Stanton and DJ LeMahieu each had a base hit as well as the Yankees had just six hits as a team in the losing effort. Gerrit Cole took the loss, falling to 10-5 on the year after allowing three runs on six hits while striking out eight over five innings of work. Jameson Taillon will start here and is 5-4 with a 4.60 ERA and 89 strikeouts this season. In his career, Taillon is 1-0 with a 1.53 ERA and 12 strikeouts against Boston.

The Boston Red Sox will try to add to Friday’s win after taking down the rival Yankees. Rafael Devers led the charge, going 2 for 4 with a pair of home runs and five RBIs. Xander Bogaerts had an RBI as well to finish off the scoring for the Red Sox in the win while Jarren Duran went 2 for 3 with a double and Alex Verdugo had a double as well. Enrique Hernandez chipped in a pair of hits as well while Hunter Renfroe added a base hit as well to cap off the offense for Boston in the victory. Eduardo Rodriguez left after an inning of work, but it was Yacksel Rios who got the win in relief. Nathan Eovaldi will start here and is 9-5 with a 3.57 ERA and 106 strikeouts this season. in his career, Eovaldi is 3-2 with a 2.88 ERA and 51 strikeouts against the Yankees.

New York is 6-13 in their last 19 games as a road underdog and 2-5 in their last 7 division games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 road games. Boston is 10-2 in their last 12 home games and 10-4 in their last 14 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 3-0-2 in their last 5 game three matchups. New York is 2-9 in the last 11 meetings between these two teams and 0-5 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Boston.

I think if the Yankees were going to have their best chance at winning a game in the series, it probably would’ve came with Cole on the bump but that didn’t happen on Friday. Eovaldi’s been pitching well for the Red Sox this season and I’m still convinced that Taillon is the weak link in the Yankees’ starting rotation. The Yankees have done nothing but disappoint left and right this season, and I think Saturday will be no different. Give me the Red Sox here.
