The Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Dodgers meet Sunday in MLB action from Dodger Stadium. This will be the final installment in a three-game weekend set between these teams. The Rockies managed a three-run win on Friday, then in the Saturday game LA evened it up with a tight victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Colorado fell behind early in the Friday game, but eventually came back for a thrilling 9-6 victory in 10 innings. In the Saturday game, the Rockies had just two hits in an eventual 1-0 loss. Starter Kyle Freeland managed 7.0 innings with one earned on five hits.

For the Sunday starter job the Rockies will send out Jon Gray. Over his 93.0 innings this year Gray has 76 hits, 45 runs (38 earned), 10 homers allowed, 37 walks, 87 Ks and a 3.68 ERA.

Over on the Dodgers’ side, they had a 5-3 lead going into the eighth inning on Friday but couldn’t hold it. In the Saturday matchup, LA scored once in the second and that was enough. Tony Gonsolin put up 5.1 innings with two hits and two walks.
For Sunday’s game, the Dodgers will send Josiah Gray to the mound for the start. In his lone game so far this year Gray put up 4.0 innings with four hits, four earned and seven strikeouts.

The Rockies are 5-0 in their last five in game three of a series and 11-5 in their last 16 versus the NL West. Colorado is 12-39 in their last 51 road games and the under is 4-0 in the last four Sunday games.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers are 41-15 in their last 56 Sunday games and 115-50 in their last 165 home games. LA is 90-41 in the last 131 in game three of a series and 64-30 in their last 94 versus the NL West.

PICK: I’m going to stick with the Rockies. Gray (Jon, that is) has been solid over his last two starts, putting up three earned on nine hits and five walks in a span of 13.0 innings. The free passes have been a little on the heavy side lately (10 in his last four starts over 25.0 innings of work) but generally his numbers are looking good. I like Gray to put up another good effort in this one.
