The Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Mets meet in MLB action from Citi Field on Saturday night.

The Toronto Blue Jays will look to bounce back from a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Mets on Friday. Randal Grichuk, Cavan Biggio and Alejandro Kirk each had a base hit as the Jays had just three hits as a team in the loss with the rest of the lineup batting 0 for 21 with 7 strikeouts in the loss. Steven Matz took the loss, falling to 8-5 on the year after allowing two runs on four hits while striking out five over 5.2 innings of work. Hyun-Jin Ryu will start here and is 9-5 with a 3.32 ERA and 85 strikeouts this season. in his career, Ryu is 5-1 with a 1.23 ERA and 59 strikeouts against the Mets.

The New York Mets will attempt to build on their win over Toronto from Friday. Pete Alonso accounted for all three RBIs for the Mets, going 2 for 4 with a pair of home runs. J.D. Davis, Luis Guillorme, Tylor Megill and Brandon Nimmo all had base hits as the Mets cranked out just six hits as a team in the win. Megill got the win on the mound after tossing six shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out five. Edwin Diaz closed the 9th for his 20th save of the season. Taijuan Walker will start here and is 7-3 with a 2.99 ERA and 89 strikeouts this season. in his career, Walker is 0-3 with a 3.96 ERA and 21 strikeouts against Toronto.

Toronto is 5-1 in their lats 6 Saturday games and 19-7 in their last 26 interleague games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 road games against a team with a winning record. New York is 22-10 in their last 32 home games and 13-4 in their last 17 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 9-1 in their last 10 home games against a left-handed starter.

I get the case that could be made for either side here, but I’m going to side with Toronto. The Jays simply have the more explosive and consistent offense behind their starter and Ryu’s pretty much owned the Mets in his career. I don’t think New York’s going to hold guys like Guerrero Jr. and Bichette down for very long, so give me the Blue Jays in this one.
