The Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals meet in an AL Central division matchup in MLB action from Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Chicago White Sox will look to build on their 5-3 win over the Royals from Tuesday. Eloy Jimenez led the charge with a three-run home run while Gavin Sheets had a solo home run and Yoan Moncada added an RBI as well to finish off the scoring for the White Sox in the win. Leury Garcia had a double while Andrew Vaughn and Tim Anderson each had base hits as the White Sox mustered up just six hits as a team in the victory. Dylan Cease allowed two earned runs on six hits while striking out six over six innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Reynaldo Lopez got the win in relief to improve to 1-0 while Liam Hendriks closed the door in the 9th for his 25th save of the season. Lucas Giolito will start here and is 8-7 with a 3.78 ERA and 136 strikeouts this season.

The Kansas City Royals will attempt to bounce back from their loss to the White Sox on Tuesday night. Hunter Dozier and Ryan O’Hearn each had an RBI while Andrew Benintendi went 2 for 4 with a double. Nicky Lopez and Whit Merrifield each had a base hit to finish off KC’s offense as the Royals had just six hits as well in the loss. Brad Keller allowed one run on four hits while striking out four over seven innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Kyle Zimmer took the loss in relief to fall to 4-1 on the year. Kris Bubic will start here and is 3-4 with a 4.72 ERA and 57 strikeouts this season.

Chicago is 17-5 in their last 22 road games against a left-handed starter and 51-20 in their last 71 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games against a left-handed starter. Kansas City is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall and 4-1 in their last 5 home games while the under is 6-1-2 in their last 9 game three matchups. Chicago is 15-5 in the last 20 meetings between these two teams.

I’m not president of the Lucas Giolito fan club, but I’m not a Kris Bubic guy either and while Bubic started the season well, he’s fallen off a fair bit as of late and the Royals as a whole aren’t a team I’m rushing to the window to back, even with this winning streak they were on. The White Sox got back on track on Tuesday and they’re simply the better team with the better pitcher in Giolito here, so give me the White Sox.
