The Chicago Cubs and the Philadelphia Phillies meet in MLB action from Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday night.

The Chicago Cubs will be out to build on their 6-3 win over the Phillies from Tuesday. Patrick Wisdom had a two-run home run and a double and Alfonso Rivas had a solo homer as well while Rafael Ortega, Frank Schwindel and Ian Happ each had an RBI and a double to cap off the scoring for the Cubs in the win. Nick Martini had a double as well while Sergio Alcantara and Willson Contreras each had base hits as well to end Chicago’s offense as a team in the wi. Adrian Sampson got the win to improve to 1-2 after allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out three over five innings of work. Rowan Wick closed the 9th for his 4th save of the year. Alec Mills will start here and is 6-6 with a 4.35 ERA and 74 strikeouts this season.

The Philadelphia Phillies will look to bounce back from their loss to the cubs on Tuesdya. Odubel Herrera had a solo home run while Bryce Harper had a double with an RBI and Didi Gregorius added an RBI as well to make up the scoring for the Phils in defeat. Jean Segura had a pair of hits with a double and Kyle Gibson had a hit as well as Philadelphia had just six hits as a team in the losing effort. Gibson took the loss on the mound, falling to 10-7 on the year after allowing four runs on five hits while striking out seven over five innings of work. Ranger Suarez will start here and is 6-4 with a 1.38 ERA and 74 strikeouts this season.

Chicago is 4-1 in their last 5 road games and 9-4 in their last 13 games overall while the under is 5-1-3 in their last 9 Wednesday games. Philadelphia is 1-4 in their last 5 games as a home favorite and 2-6 in their last 8 game two matchups while the under is 4-1-1 in their last 6 games overall.

I get why you’d make the Phillies the favorite at home here, but for some reason, the Cubs keep winning games even though they’re long out of the playoff picture. Philadelphia almost seems like they’re choking at the worst possible time, and while Suarez has pitched well, I just feel like there’s too much value to pass on with the Cubs here. Give me Chicago.
