The Miami Marlins and New York Mets meet Tuesday in a MLB doubleheader at Citi Field. The Marlins need a win here to snap a five-game losing streak. The Mets also need a win here to snap a five-game losing streak.

The Miami Marlins have scored five runs in their last three games and three or less runs in six of their last nine games. The Marlins have lost seven straight games when scoring three or less runs. Miguel Rojas leads the Marlins with 128 hits and 46 RBI while Jesus Aguilar and Jazz Chisholm Jr. have combined for 227 hits and 142 RBI. Trevor Rogers and TBD get the ball for the Marlins.

The New York Mets have scored six runs in their last three games and three or less runs in six of their last eight games. The Mets have lost nine of their last 10 games when scoring three or less runs. Pete Alsono leads the Mets with 138 hits and 89 RBI while Jonathan Villar and Dominic Smith have combined for 214 hits and 98 RBI. Marcus Stroman and Trevor Williams get the ball for the Mets.

The Marlins are 13-38 in their last 51 road games and 0-5 in their last 5 overall. The Mets are 1-5 in their last 6 home games and 3-13 in their last 16 overall. The over is 6-2 in Marlins last 8 overall. The under is 9-2-1 in Mets last 12 overall. The Marlins are 7-20 in the last 27 meetings in New York and 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.

Game 1 Pick: Hell of a pitching matchup here, but it’s tough to turn down the Marlins with Rogers on the mound, a pitcher who has been in the running for NL Rookie of the Year all season. Stroman has held his own this season, but he doesn’t get much run support and it’s led to spotty results.

Game 2 Pick: I doubt the Marlins snap a long losing streak and then win two games in a row. Williams hasn’t been good this month with an ERA over five in his last 10 innings, but these doubleheaders are usually split down the middle and I don’t trust the Marlins to put together offense in back-to-back games.
