The Minnesota Twins and the Kansas City Royals meet Sunday in MLB action from Kauffman Stadium. This will be the final installment in a weekend series and the final game of the regular season. In the Friday opener, the Royals notched a five-run win. On Saturday, Minnesota evened it up with a shutout victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Minnesota gave up 11 runs across the first six innings on Friday, faltering in an 11-6 result. On Saturday the Twins notched nine team hits in a 4-0 victory. Starting pitcher Griffin Jax put up 5.0 clean innings with one hit and two walks.

For the Sunday starter gig the Twins are sending out Charlie Barnes. This year Barnes is 0-3 with a 5.86 ERA and 17 Ks.

Over on the Royals’ side, they logged 15 team hits (and gave up 13) in the win on Friday. In the Saturday game KC could only find three hits in the defeat. Kris Bubic lasted 6.2 innings with two earned runs on seven hits.

Starting pitcher for Kansas City on Sunday will be Jackson Kowar. In his 26.1 innings this year Kowar has 38 hits, 33 earned runs, six homers allowed, 19 walks, 23 Ks and an 11.28 ERA.

The Twins are 1-4 in their last five Sunday games and 0-5 in their last five in game three of a series. The under is 5-1 in the Twins’ last six Sunday games as well.

Meanwhile, the Royals are 48-108 in their last 156 in game three of a series and the under is 24-6-3 in their last 33 Sunday games. The under is 37-16-5 in KC’s last 58 in game three of a series as well.

PICK: I’m going to try Minnesota. It’s been a rough stretch for Kowar to close out the season. Over his last four starts, Kowar has 21 earned runs on 22 hits, five homers and 11 walks in a span of 15.1 innings. He hasn’t gone past 4.1 frames in any of his last three starts, either. I don’t think Kowar will pitch too badly here but it’s probably still the Twins’ victory to take.
