Mexico vs Great Britain
March 14, 2023 10:00 pm EDT

Great Britain and Mexico face off on Tuesday in the World Baseball Classic at Chase Field in Arizona.

Great Britain Betting Preview

There weren’t many expectations surrounding Great Britain, and they have to feel good about winning one game so far. Coming into this game, they sit with a 1-2 record overall. Great Britain opened up World Baseball Classic with losses to the United States and Canada. Against Canada, they did score eight runs, but the pitching ended giving up 18 runs. On Monday, they faced off against Colombia and ended up winning 7-5. Jaden Rudd finished with one hit and two RBIs. In this game, if they want a chance to pick up a second win it’s going to need to be the offense that steps up.

Mexico Betting Preview

On the other side of this matchup is Mexico, who sits with a 1-1 record overall so far in the World Baseball Classic. In the first game against Colombia, they were able to force extra innings, but they ended up losing 5-4. On Sunday, Mexico faced off against the United States, and they were able to secure an 11-5 victory. Randy Arozarena had a strong game, finishing with three hits, three runs and two RBIs. Joey Meneses also had a strong game, finishing with three hits, three runs, and three RBIs. Mexico has scored 16 runs so far this season, and they are going to need the offense to be strong again here. If the offense is good, Mexico is going to be in good shape here.

Shane’s Free Pick

Great Britain is coming off a victory, but I really don’t trust their offense. In the last game against the USA, Mexico used a balanced offensive attack, and they are going to have no issue running up the score again here. Look for Mexico to score at least seven or eight runs, and that will be enough to get the job done. Back Mexico -2.5 to cash here.

Shane Mickle's Free Pick: Mexico -2.5
