The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves meet Wednesday in MLB action from SunTrust Park. This will be the finale in a three-game series. The Dodgers took a two-run win in the opener, then in game two LA kept it up with a blowout victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers overcame a 4-0 deficit in the Monday opener, eventually pulling off the comeback win 8-6. On Tuesday Los Angeles scored three runs in both the second and ninth innings during an 8-1 victory. Starter Bobby Miller finished with 5.0 innings, one earned, four hits and a walk.

Tony Gonsolin will take the mound for the Dodgers on Wednesday. Over his five starts so far Gonsolin is 2-1 with a 1.13 ERA and 19 Ks in 24.0 innings. Gonsolin is 28-7 with a 2.40 ERA over 64 career games (56 starts).

Atlanta Braves

Over on the Atlanta side, they were out-hit 12-9 in the Monday opener and couldn’t do much after the first inning. In game two the Braves were out-hit 9-5 in the defeat. Spencer Strider went 6.0 innings in the start with two earned, five hits, three walks and 11 Ks.

For the starter job Wednesday it’ll be Bryce Elder. Over his nine starts this year Elder is 3-0 with a 2.06 ERA and 45 Ks in 52.1 innings. Elder is 5-4 with a 2.62 ERA in 19 career games (18 starts).

The Dodgers are 97-45 in their last 142 overall and 143-69 in their last 212 during game three of a series. LA is 53-26 in their last 79 Wednesday games.

Meanwhile, the Braves are 55-24 in the last 79 at home and 108-52 in their last 160 on grass. Atlanta is 6-2 in their last eight Wednesday games.

I’ll stick with the Dodgers in this one. Gonsolin is rolling right along these days and should keep it going here. Over his last three starts combined, Gonsolin is 2-1 with 16.0 innings, zero earned, six hits and four walks. Elder hasn’t been bad himself though; he’s got 16.1 innings, five earned, 16 hits and six walks in his last trio. On Tuesday Los Angeles got 4.0 combined innings from the bullpen with zero earned, one hit, one walk and six strikeouts in a very nice performance. If LA can keep that up they’ll be in great shape.
