The Texas Rangers and the Atlanta Braves meet Sunday in MLB action from Truist Park. Here’s a Rangers vs Braves prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game weekend series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.
Texas Rangers Betting Preview
The Rangers did well against the Detroit Tigers this week, winning three of four games in that set. Texas would fall 8-3 to the Braves on Friday, then in game two the Rangers held a brief lead in the second inning but couldn’t score from there in a 5-2 loss. Nathan Eovaldi put up 5.1 innings with three earned on five hits and six walks in the start.
In the starter role for the Sunday finale the Rangers will send out Michael Lorenzen. In his lone start this year Lorenzen recorded a victory with 5.0 clean frames, three hits, five walks and four strikeouts. He’s 41-38 with a 4.09 career ERA in 343 games (70 starts).
Atlanta Braves Betting Preview
Over on the Braves’ side, they posted a three-game sweep over the Houston Astros in their last set. Following their Friday win, on Saturday Atlanta managed eight team hits, with Michael Harris (RBI) posting three of them. Starter Charlie Morton finished with 6.0 innings, two earned runs, four hits and two walks.
Darius Vines will take the starting pitcher role for the Braves in the finale. In his season debut Vines put up 4.2 innings with one earned on four hits and three walks. Over his career Vines is 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA in six games (three starts).

Rangers vs Braves Prediction
I’ll probably just stay with the Braves. We should have a pretty fun starter matchup here, though. Both pitchers did well in their respective season debuts. Vines posted 4.2 innings with one earned in a no-decision versus the Astros. As for Lorenzen, he managed a win over the Tigers with 5.0 clean frames on April 15. I like both guys to at least flirt with quality starts on Sunday.
In game two Atlanta did a pretty good job on both sides. The bullpen (Joe Jimenez, AJ Minter and Raisel Iglesias) held the Rangers to just one hit, no earned and five Ks in 3.0 innings during the win. That makes 13 runs scored in two games this weekend. I like the Braves to keep it up.
