The Chicago Cubs and the Baltimore Orioles meet Thursday in MLB action from Oriole Park. Here’s a Baltimore Orioles vs Chicago Cubs prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Chicago Cubs Betting Preview

The Cubs played the Los Angeles Angels over the weekend. Chicago took a 7-0 blowout loss Saturday but otherwise won the remaining pair 5-1 and 5-0. After a 9-2 win over Baltimore in the opener, on Wednesday the Cubs posted 11 team hits in a shutout win 4-0. Shota Imanaga finished with 6.0 clean frames as starter.

In the starter slot for Chicago on Thursday it’ll be Justin Steele. This year Steele is 1-3 with a 2.95 ERA in 13 starts. In his career Steele is 25-19 with a 3.23 ERA in 87 games (76 starts).

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

Over on the Orioles’ side, they took on the Oakland Athletics in their last set. Baltimore similarly lost in a blowout 19-8 on Saturday but took wins 3-2 and 6-3 in the other two games. On Wednesday the Orioles had nine hits but couldn’t cash in on anything. Starter Corbin Burnes managed 6.0 innings with three earned runs.

It’ll be Albert Suarez as starter for the O’s on Thursday. So far Suarez is 5-2 with a 2.48 ERA in 18 games (11 starts). Suarez is 8-10 with a 3.78 ERA in 58 games (23 starts) over his career.

Baltimore Orioles vs Chicago Cubs Prediction

I’ll stick with the Orioles. I could probably go either way, though. Suarez took a rough loss versus Houston on June 23 with five earned in 5.0 innings but he’s been good since then. Over his last pair Suarez is 2-0 with 12.0 innings and just two earned runs combined. As for Steele, he’s got six earned over his last three starts in 22.1 innings total.

On Wednesday the O’s didn’t play too badly overall, but outside of Ryan Mountcastle’s three hits it was pretty slim pickings at the plate. Still, I think Baltimore turns it around Thursday.
