The New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays meet Tuesday in MLB action from Rogers Centre. This will be the second installment in a four-game series. In the Monday opener, the Yankees struck first with a three-run victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

New York Yankees

The Yankees managed wins over the Rays Friday and Saturday but lost the other pair in that set for a split. On Monday versus Toronto, New York scored three runs in the first inning and eventually powered out a 7-4 win. Jimmy Cordero opened the game with 2.0 clean frames, no hits, no walks and no strikeouts.

Domingo German will make the start for the Yankees on Tuesday. Over his eight starts so far this year German is 2-3 with a 4.00 ERA and 47 Ks in 45.0 innings. German is 28-24 with a 4.34 ERA in 100 career games (78 starts).

Toronto Blue Jays

Over on the Blue Jays’ side, they played the Braves over the weekend and took all three games for a sweep. On Tuesday Toronto scored four in the eighth inning but couldn’t dig out of the hole. Starter Alek Manoah managed 4.0 innings, five earned, six hits and seven walks.

Kevin Gausman will make the start for the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Across his eight starts this year Gausman is 2-3 with a 3.38 ERA and 67 strikeouts over 48.0 innings. Gausman has a career record of 78-85 with a 3.92 ERA in 275 games (236 starts).

The Yankees are 41-17 in their last 58 Tuesday games and 77-35 in their last 112 in game two of a series. New York is 3-7 in their last 10 versus a team with a winning record.

Meanwhile, the Jays are 7-3 in their last 10 in game two of a series and 48-22 in their last 70 versus a right-handed starter. The under is 8-2 in Toronto’s last 10 in game two of a series.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll stay with the Blue Jays in this one. The line’s probably a little too thick to mess with, though. Gausman bounced back well from a bad outing versus the Red Sox on May 4 (3.1 innings; eight earned) with 6.0 clean frames versus the Phillies. As for German, he’s been pretty solid lately with four combined earned over his last 19.0 innings. German is just 0-1 in that time, though. On Monday Toronto got an off-night from Manoah, but hung in there otherwise. I like Toronto to bounce back and get a win here but I’m probably not touching it.
