In this article we will formulate a Braves vs Orioles prediction for this MLB game on Saturday, July 5th at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

The Atlanta Braves are 39-48 this year after they lost game one by a score of 3-2 on Friday night. Atlanta cut the deficit to 3-2 in the sixth inning, but couldn’t find anymore offense in the close loss. The Braves recorded six hits in the game and they were led by Baldwin, who went 1-3 with one home run and two RBIs in the loss. Atlanta started Strider, who allowed seven hits and three earned runs over 6.0 innings for the loss, while Lee and Johnson pitched 3.0 scoreless innings.

Prior to this series, the Braves lost two out of three against the Angels and two out of three against the Phillies. Atlanta has lost seven of their last nine games and they are currently fourth in the NL East standings. The Atlanta pitching staff has a 3.75 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP and a .234 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 350 runs with a .243 batting average and a .317 on base percentage this year. Matt Olson has led Atlanta with 16 home runs and 56 RBIs, while Austin Riley has added 12 home runs and 42 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Atlanta is Aaron Bummer, who is 1-1 with a 2.86 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP over 34.2 innings pitched this year.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

The Baltimore Orioles are 38-49 this season after they won on Friday night by a score of 3-2 to start the series. Baltimore scored once in the third and twice in the fifth, which was enough to get the low scoring win. The Orioles recorded seven hits in the game and they were led by Mullins, who went 1-3 with one home run and two RBIs in the win. Baltimore started Morton, who allowed six hits and two earned runs over 5.1 innings for the win, while Bautista picked up the save.

Prior to this series, the Orioles lost two out of three against the Rangers, but did win two out of three against the Rays before that. Baltimore has won three of their last five games and they are currently last in the AL East standings. The Baltimore pitching staff has a 4.98 ERA with a 1.43 WHIP and a .270 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 360 runs with a .240 batting average and a .305 on base percentage this season. Cedric Mullins has led Baltimore with 13 home runs and 41 RBIs, while Ryan O’Hearn has added 11 home runs and 30 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Baltimore is Dean Kremer, who is 7-7 with a 4.27 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP over 97.0 innings pitched this season.

Braves vs Orioles Prediction

Baltimore was able to escape with the low scoring win to start this series on Friday, but they continue to be the worst team in the AL East. The Orioles are just 19-27 on the road this year, while the Braves are 24-20 at home. Atlanta has been another disappointing team this season, as they are 11.5 games back in the NL East. The Braves are starting Bummer, who will only pitch a couple of innings as an opener. The Orioles are starting Kremer, who has allowed one earned run or fewer in three straight starts. I do like how Kremer has bounced back after a rough start to the season, but I really don’t trust Baltimore on the road. Take the Braves here.
