The Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers meet Sunday in MLB action from Dodger Stadium. This will be the final installment in a four-game set between these teams over the weekend. After a split in the first pair of games, on Saturday the Dodgers eked out a one-run win. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Chicago played well in the Thursday opener with a 4-0 victory, but fell 6-2 in the Friday game two. In the Saturday game, the Cubs tied the game up in the fifth but lost in a walk-off 3-2. Alec Mills posted 4.0 innings with two earned on eight hits and two walks.

For the Sunday matchup, the Cubs will send Adbert Alzolay to the hill for the start. Across his 62.1 innings this year, Alzolay has 47 hits, 29 earned runs, 12 homers allowed, 17 walks, 67 Ks and a 4.19 ERA.

Over on the Dodgers’ side, they broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning Friday with four runs on the way to the victory. On Saturday, the Dodgers posted 10 team hits in their game two win. Julio Urias went 5.1 innings with five hits, 12 Ks and two earned.

For the Sunday finale, the Dodgers will go with Clayton Kershaw as the starter. In his 94.1 innings this season, Kershaw has 78 hits, 38 runs (36 earned), 11 homers allowed, 17 walks, 111 Ks and a 3.43 ERA.

The Cubs are 4-0 in their last four in game four of a series and 5-1 in their last six Sunday games. Chicago is 16-7 in their last 23 versus the NL West and 13-6 in their last 19 versus a lefty starter.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers are 38-14 in their last 52 Sunday games and 49-20 in their last 69 home games. LA is 98-46 in their last 144 games versus a right-handed starter and the over is 3-1-1 in their last five Sunday games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with the Dodgers. Kershaw has been decent over his last three starts, posting five earned on 15 hits over 18.0 innings. He’s gone 6.0 frames in each of his last five outings as well. As for Alzolay, he had a nice run going early this month but has since given up seven earned on eight hits and three homers over his last two starts in 7.2 innings. If Kershaw can manage a quality start in this one, LA should be in good shape.
