In this article we will formulate a Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays prediction for this MLB game on Tuesday, May 28th at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois. Let’s take a look at the prediction for game two in the series.

White Sox Have Lost Six Straight

The Chicago White Sox are 15-40 this year and they have lost six games in a row. Chicago dropped game one in this series and only scored one run in the loss. Prior to this series, the White Sox were swept by the Orioles in four games, lost two out of three against Toronto, and were swept by the Yankees in three games. Chicago has lost 10 of their last 11 games and they continue to be dead last in the AL Central.

The Chicago pitching staff has a 4.71 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP, and a .242 opponent batting average. The White Sox offense has scored 158 runs with a .215 batting average and a .278 on base percentage. Andrew Vaughn is batting .196 with four home runs and 18 RBI’s for the White Sox this season. Chicago is second to last in the MLB in team ERA and they have allowed at least five runs in eight of their last ten games.

Blue Jays Dominate the White Sox

The Toronto Blue Jays are 24-29 this season and they have lost three of their last four games. Toronto won game one in this series by a score of 5-1 on Monday. Prior to this series, the Blue Jays lost three out of four against Detroit, won two out of three against the White Sox, and lost two out of three against Tampa Bay. Toronto has outscored Chicago by a total of 23-11 in their last four meetings. The Blue Jays are currently last in the AL East.

The Toronto pitching staff has a 4.33 ERA, a 1.33 WHIP, and a .256 opponent batting average. The Blue Jays offense has scored 210 runs with a .234 batting average and a .312 on base percentage. Daulton Varsho is batting .205 with 10 home runs and 30 RBI’s for the Blue Jays this season. Toronto is 25th in the MLB in runs scored and they have scored at least five runs in six of their last nine games.

Starting Pitchers

The projected starting pitcher for Chicago is Mike Clevinger, who is 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA and a 1.94 WHIP over 16.0 innings pitched this season. Clevinger has allowed three earned runs or more in three of his last four starts, including allowing five earned runs and seven hits against Baltimore last time out. The projected starting pitcher for Toronto is Kevin Gausman, who is 3-3 with a 4.47 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP over 48.1 innings pitched this year. Gausman has allowed one earned run or fewer in three of his last five starts, but did have two rough outings against Tampa Bay and Minnesota in that span.

Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

Toronto has not had much success this season, but three of their last five wins have been against the White Sox in dominating fashion. The Blue Jays don’t have very good offensive numbers this season, but they are starting to pick up the pace over the last few games. Chicago is one of the worst teams in the MLB and they have lost 10 of their last 11 games by at least two runs. Toronto is starting Kevin Gausman, who has been very solid in recent outings, and he should have another great outing here. My Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays prediction is for the Blue Jays to win by at least two runs.
