The Nationals took on the Boston Red Sox in their weekend series. Washington managed a 5-1 win in the Friday opener, but then fell 4-2 in game two. MacKenzie Gore posted 6.0 innings in the start with two earned on six hits and two walks alongside nine Ks.

In the starting pitcher role for Monday’s game, the Nationals are going with Trevor Williams. This year Williams is 4-0 with a 1.96 ERA in seven starts. He’s got 30 Ks in 36.2 innings. Williams is 48-54 with a 4.38 ERA in 196 career games (155 starts).

Chicago White Sox vs Washington Nationals Prediction

I might take a stab on the White Sox here. Probably not going near this one, however. Chicago should be in good hands—at least in the early innings—with Flexen on the mound. He’s been doing well lately. Over his last three starts combined Flexen is 2-0 with just three earned runs in 16.0 combined innings on nine hits and six walks. The Sox offense will need to give him a few support runs, though.

On Sunday the White Sox had an ugly game on both sides. There were a few decent moments on offense, but Chicago couldn’t cash in on anything. The loss broke a string of four straight games with three or more runs—and a four-game win streak along with it. The Sox need to get it going at the plate on Monday, but I think they have a decent shot at another W.
