The Colorado Rockies and the Cincinnati Reds meet Tuesday in MLB action from Great American Ball Park. Here’s a Cincinnati Reds vs Colorado Rockies prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Colorado Rockies Betting Preview

The Rockies played the Kansas City Royals in their weekend set. Colorado won the first pair 4-2 and 3-1 in that series, then fell 10-1 in a blowout Sunday defeat. On Monday versus the Reds, the Rockies posted just four team hits in a 6-0 shutout loss. Starter Ryan Feltner put up 7.0 innings with one earned on four hits and three walks.

In the starter role for the Tuesday game two, the Rockies are going with Cal Quantrill. This year Quantrill is 6-6 with a 3.77 ERA in 18 starts. Quantrill is 41-29 with a 3.82 ERA in 150 career games (112 starts) total.

Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview

Over on the Reds’ side, they played the Detroit Tigers in their last set. Cincinnati kept their winning streak going in that trio, taking all three games for a sweep 5-4, 5-3 and 5-1. On Monday the Reds posted eight team hits. Andrew Abbott cruised in the start on 7.0 innings, three hits two walks and eight Ks.

Frankie Montas will step in for the starter job on Tuesday. This year so far Montas is 4-6 with a 4.19 ERA in 16 starts. Over 146 career games (115 starts) Montas is 41-41 with a 3.93 ERA.

Cincinnati Reds vs Colorado Rockies Prediction

I’ll stay with the Reds. Montas is pitching well right now despite a tepid 1-1 record over his last three starts. In that trio Montas has five earned runs combined over 17.0 innings on 11 hits and seven walks. As for Quantrill, he’s 0-1 in his last three with 10 earned in 16.1 innings total.

On Monday the Reds had some standout performers on offense—and also a few duds in the lineup. That said, the pitching really came through in the shutout win. I like Cincinnati to keep it rolling Tuesday.
