The New York Mets and the Cleveland Guardians meet Tuesday in MLB action from Progressive Field. Here’s a Cleveland Guardians vs NY Mets Prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

New York Mets Betting Preview

The Mets took on the Miami Marlins in their last series. New York lost the first two installments of that set 8-0 and 10-9, but finished off with a Sunday win 7-3 to stop the sweep. On Monday versus Cleveland, the Mets had six team hits in a 3-1 loss. Tylor Megill finished with 5.0 innings, two earned, two walks and four hits in the start.

In the starting pitcher role for game two the Mets are sending out Adrian Houser. This year Houser is 0-3 with a 7.44 ERA in eight games (six starts). He has 17 Ks in 32.2 innings total. Houser is 31-37 with a 4.20 ERA in 137 career games (103 starts).

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

Over on the Guardians’ side, they played the Minnesota Twins over the weekend. Cleveland did well in that series, taking the sweep with wins 3-2, 11-4 and 5-2. On Monday in their opener versus the Mets, the Guardians scored twice in the first inning and never looked back. Starter Ben Lively managed 5.2 innings with one earned on six hits and no walks.

It’ll be Carlos Carrasco in the starting pitcher slot for the Guardians on Tuesday. So far this year Carrasco is 2-4 with a 5.16 ERA in nine starts with 34 Ks in 45.1 innings. Carrasco is 109-97 with a 4.08 career ERA in 312 games (265 starts) at the MLB level.

Cleveland Guardians vs New York Mets Prediction

I’ll stay with the Guardians. Carrasco is pitching pretty well over his last three starts, even though he’s got just a 1-2 record in that time to show for it. Carrasco has given up six earned combined over 18.0 total innings. As for Houser, he’s got one earned on four hits and three walks over his last 4.0 innings.

On Monday in the opener the Guardians didn’t have the greatest offensive evening but the pitching more than made up for it. Cleveland’s bullpen was great on 3.0 innings, no earned, no hits and no walks. I like the Guardians to keep it going Tuesday.
