The San Francisco Giants did not have a starting pitcher announced at the time that this article was posted. The Cleveland Guardians will send out Tanner Bibee for the start here and is 7-2 with a 3.47 ERA and 109 strikeouts this season. This will be Bibee’s first career start against the Giants.

San Francisco Giants Recap

The San Francisco Giants come into this series looking to build on another series victory after taking out the Atlanta Braves in Thursday’s rubber match by a final score of 4-2. The series victory kept the streak alive for the Giants after knocking off the Dodgers and Cubs over the last week and a half.

Going into Thursday’s action, Thairo Estrada has 68 hits along with a team-high 9 home runs and 39 RBIs while also chipping in 14 doubles. Michael Conforto has 51 hits with 9 home runs, 9 doubles and 29 RBIs while Matt Chapman has 78 hits of his own alongside 22 doubles with 11 homers, 40 RBIs and 7 stolen bases. Chapman also has the dubious distinction of leading the Giants with 86 strikeouts this season.

Entering Thursday, Jose Ramirez leads the Guardians with 89 hits as well as 23 home runs and 76 RBIs while Josh Naylor also has 20 home runs and 61 RBIs of his own. Ramirez has a team-high 17 doubles while Tyler Freeman has 12 doubles and Andres Gimenez has 38 RBIs with 14 stolen bases while the aforementioned Ramirez has a team-high 16 stolen bases on the year.

  • The Guardians have won seven of their last eight games at Progressive Field.

Cleveland Guardians vs San Francisco Giants Prediction

I’m on the Guardians here. I think the bounce back series was exactly what the doctor ordered for the Guardians and while the Giants have a solid bullpen, I don’t love the form it’s been in in the last couple of weeks. The Guardians keep finding ways to win whenever Bibee has taken the mound this season and I think a case could be made that he’s been their staff ace up to this point in the year. All in all, I have to roll with the Guardians in this one.
