Starting Pitching Matchup

Trends

Miami is 0-5 in their last 5 games overall and 1-6 in their last 7 road games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record. Chicago is 4-1 in their last 5 home games and 2-6 in their last 8 games overall while the under is 11-1 in their last 12 games overall.

Pick

I’m backing the Marlins here. Miami is a solid team despite what we’ve seen from them to this point, and the same can be said for Sandy Alcantara, who definitely hasn’t been the same pitcher that won the Cy Young last season. However, the Cubs have cooled off a fair bit since their hot start to the year and I’m not sure how much I’m buying into Hayden Wesneski right now either. All in all, this is a great price for a pitcher of Alcantara’s caliber and I think the Fish get the win here. Give me Miami.
