The Baltimore Orioles and the Detroit Tigers meet Friday in MLB action from Comerica Park. Here’s a Detroit Tigers vs Baltimore Orioles prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Tigers vs Orioles pick.

Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

Baltimore played the rival Boston Red Sox this week. After a split 12-3 (loss) and 5-3 (win), in the Wednesday rubber match the Orioles took a tough loss 5-3 after giving up three runs in the bottom of the 10th inning. Dean Kremer gave up one earned in 7.0 innings on five hits and two walks as a starter.

In the starter slot Friday the O’s are sending out Zach Eflin. So far Eflin is 10-8 with a 3.65 ERA in 25 starts. Eflin is 62-61 with a 4.18 ERA in 183 career games (171 starts).

Over on the Tigers’ side, they took on the Colorado Rockies in their last series. Detroit won 11-0 in the opener, then in game two kept it going with a 7-4 win. On Thursday the Tigers took a 4-2 loss. Starter Tarik Skubal finished with 6.0 innings and one earned run.

As a starter for Friday, the Tigers didn’t immediately announce a name.

Detroit Tigers vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction

I have to stick with Baltimore here. Eflin had a spotty start in his last appearance, taking a loss to the Rays with 5.2 innings and three earned on eight hits and a walk. In his two starts prior to that, however, Eflin went 2-0 with 13.0 innings and just two earned runs. He should be good for a quality start on Friday if all goes well.

This week Baltimore coughed up quite a bit of runs to Boston: 20 combined over three games. The O’s lost two of those three, and they’ve fallen in four of the last five overall. The bats and the pen need to come along for the ride, but Eflin should set the team up well while he’s out there.
