In this article we will formulate a Royals vs Orioles prediction for this MLB game on Sunday, April 21st at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Let’s take a look at the prediction for game three of the series.

Royals Preview

The Kansas City Royals are 13-8 this year and they have alternated wins and losses over their last four games. Kansas City won game one on Friday by a score of 9-4, but they did lose game two. Prior to this series, the Royals won two out of three against the White Sox. The Kansas City pitching staff has a 3.10 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP, and a .240 opponent batting average. The Royals offense has scored 108 runs with a .241 batting average and a .312 on base percentage. Salvador Perez is batting .342 with six home runs and 22 RBI’s for the Royals. The projected starting pitcher for Kansas City Seth Lugo, who is 3-0 with a 1.05 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP over 25.2 innings pitched this year.

Orioles Preview

The Baltimore Orioles are 13-7 this season and they have won five of their last six games. Baltimore did drop the first game in this series, but they won game two by a score of 9-7 on Saturday night. Prior to this series, the Orioles won all three games against the Twins by scores of 4-2, 11-3, and 7-4. The Baltimore pitching staff has a 4.13 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP, and a .238 opponent batting average. Royals vs Orioles Prediction

Baltimore was able to jump out to a big lead on Saturday night in game two, but Kansas City nearly came back in the game. The Royals have been much better than I thought they would be this season and their pitching staff has really overachieved. KC is starting Seth Lugo, who has allowed three earned runs and 21 hits over 25.2 innings in four starts. Baltimore has played much better in their last six games, but they are going with Cole Irvin, who has allowed 11 earned runs and 20 hits over 14.2 innings in three starts. Irvin has not looked very strong in his three starts this year and I will not back him against a hot Royals offense. Take Kansas City here.
