Chicago White Sox Betting Preview

The White Sox had zero luck in the first two games of this series. Chicago fell 10-1 Thursday and 2-1 in game two. In the Saturday matchup, the White Sox posted just three hits in a 3-0 shutout loss. Starter Chris Flexen went 6.1 innings with three earned runs. Paul DeJong, Lenyn Sosa and Martin Maldanado each had a hit.

For the starter gig on Sunday, the White Sox will send out Garrett Crochet. In his last outing versus the Atlanta Braves, Crochet took a victory with 7.0 innings and one earned run. Over his career Crochet is 4-8 with a 2.51 ERA in 74 games (two starts).

Kansas City Royals Betting Preview

Over on the Royals’ side, they were able to eke out a one-run win on Friday thanks to RBI from Salvador Perez (three hits) and MJ Melendez. In the Saturday matchup Kansas City posted 10 team hits and got all their runs in the seventh inning. Maikel Garcia, Bobby Witt and Nelson Velazquez each had two hits in the win.

It’ll be Alec Marsh in the starting role for the Royals on Sunday. In his first start of the season versus the Baltimore Orioles Marsh took a victory with 7.0 innings and one earned run as well. In his MLB career Marsh is 4-9 with a 5.31 ERA in 18 games (nine starts).

White Sox vs Royals Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Royals. I could probably go either way here, though. We should have a fun starting pitcher matchup at least. Both guys are playing well so far, and both are coming off 7.0 innings with just one earned run. This should be a low-scoring affair if the starters are on point, at least initially.

On Saturday in game three, the Royals got a great pitching performance all around. Starter Michael Wacha put up 7.0 clean innings, and only Nick Anderson and Chris Stratton had to work out of the pen (on a combined 2.0 innings, one hit, one walk and two Ks). I like Kansas City to keep it going Sunday. The Sox bats are going to have to get moving to keep things interesting.
