Starting Pitching Matchup

The Seattle Mariners will send out Luis Castillo for the start here and Castillo is 5-6 with a 2.99 ERA and 81 strikeouts this season. Seattle Mariners Recap

The Seattle Mariners come into this one looking to bounce back from a series-opening 10-9 loss at the hands of the Royals in Friday’s matchup. The loss put the Mariners at risk of having their series win streak snapped after taking out the A’s, Angels and Astros in the last week and a half.

Mariners Trying To Stay Hot At The Dish

Julio Rodriguez leads the Mariners with 68 hits including a .267 batting average and also has 5 doubles. Cal Raleigh has a team-high 11 home runs along with 33 RBIs while Jorge Polanco has 5 home runs with 14 RBIs and Raleigh has a team-high 76 strikeouts. Mitch Haniger also has 6 home runs and 27 RBIs while Rodriguez has a team-high 14 stolen bases and 76 strikeouts as well this season. Dylan Moore and Ty France each have a team-high 11 doubles also this season.

  • The Mariners have won each of their last 11 games as favorites against AL Central opponents following a road loss.

Bobby Witt Jr. leads the Royals with 83 hits including 11 home runs, 47 RBIs and team-highs of 7 triples and 16 doubles with 19 stolen bases. • The Royals have covered the run line in each of their last eight home games against American League opponents.
  • The Mariners have failed to cover the run line in each of their last four games as road favorites against AL Central opponents.

Kansas City Royals vs Seattle Mariners Prediction

I’m on the Royals here. I know Luis Castillo has been rock solid for the better part of the season and has been dealing quality starts like it’s going out of style. However, the Royals are still one of the best home teams in baseball, and I think they have a ton of momentum after rallying for the walk-off win on Friday. I think this is going to be a fun series, but I think the Royals get it done as a home dog on Saturday. Give me Kansas City.
