The Los Angeles Angels and the Baltimore Orioles meet Wednesday in MLB action from Oriole Park. This will be the third installment in a four-game series. The Angels took a four-run win in the opener, then on Tuesday the Orioles bagged a four-run victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.
Los Angeles Angels
The Angels scored five runs in the fourth inning Monday, registering 17 team hits in a 9-5 win. In the Tuesday matchup, Los Angeles gave up three runs in both the fourth and sixth innings on the way to a 7-3 loss. Chase Silseth put up 3.1 innings with four earned on six hits and a walk in the start.
For the starter job on Wednesday it’ll be Griffin Canning. Over his five starts this year Canning is 2-1 with a 6.38 ERA and 21 Ks in 24.0 innings. Canning is 14-14 with a 4.90 career ERA in 48 games (46 starts).
Baltimore Orioles
Over on the Orioles’ side, they had a brief 4-3 lead in the Monday game but lost it soon after. On Tuesday Baltimore had nine team hits in the victory. Starter Dean Kremer lasted 5.2 frames with three earned, six hits and no walks.
Kyle Bradish will make the start for the Orioles on Wednesday. Across six starts this year Bradish is 1-1 with a 4.56 ERA and 24 strikeouts over 25.2 innings of work. Bradish is 5-8 with a 4.83 ERA in 29 starts.
The Angels are 24-50 in their last 74 versus a team with a winning record and 10-27 in their last 37 versus the AL East. The under is 6-2 in LA’s last eight Wednesday games.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 6-2 in their last eight in game three of a series and 18-8 in their last 26 overall. Baltimore is 27-57 in their last 84 Wednesday games.
ANDREW’S FREE PICK
I’ll stick with the Orioles. Bradish has done fairly well over his past two games, with three combined earned runs over 11.0 innings on eight hits and three walks. Canning is going to need a bit of a bounce-back effort here on the other side; he’s given up 10 earned over his last 8.2 innings. On Tuesday Baltimore got a pretty nice bullpen effort with 3.1 innings, two hits (both from Bryan Baker), no walks and four Ks. Another performance like that from the pitching staff and the O’s will be in great shape.
