The Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Angels meet Saturday in MLB action from Angel Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Minnesota Twins vs LA Angels prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Minnesota Twins will be starting Chris Paddack here and Paddack is 1-1 with a 5.57 ERA and 19 strikeouts this season. This will be Paddack’s first career start against the Angels. Jose Soriano will get the start for the Angels in this game and is 0-3 with a 3.43 ERA and 22 strikeouts this season. This will be Soriano’s first career start against the Twins.

Minnesota Twins Recap

The Twins were able to push their winning streak to five games after a 5-3 win in Friday’s series opener, following up their four-game sweep of the White Sox to start the week. The Twins outhit the Angels 11-5 in the win and scored in 5 different innings to pick up the win. The Twins will take on the White Sox after this series.

Twins Starting To Put It Together?

Byron Buxton and Ryan Jeffers each have a team-high 20 hits with Jeffers logging 4 home runs and a team-high 14 RBIs with a .274 batting average while Buxton has 7 doubles and 11 RBIs. Edouard Julien leads the Twins with 7 home runs while Willi Castro has 1 team-high 31 strikeouts as well as 6 doubles this season. Alex Kirilloff also has 19 hits with 5 doubles and 3 triples as well this season.

Minnesota Twins Team Facts

  • The Twins have covered the run line in seven of their last eight night games against AL West opponents.
  • The Twins have led after 3 innings in each of their last nine night games against opponents that held a losing record.
  • The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Twins’ last three games.

Los Angeles Angels Recap

The Los Angeles Angels fell short in Friday’s opener, adding to the inconsistencies this Halos team has had out of the gate and while struggles were probably to be expected, we can really see what not having Shohei Ohtani has done to this lineup and putting up 5 hits in the loss to the Twins was proof of that.

Angels Have The Names, Just Need To Produce

Taylor Ward leads the Angels with 28 hits along with 7 home runs and a team-high 23 RBIs. Mike Trout has a team-high 10 home runs along with a pair of triples and 5 stolen bases while Zach Neto has a team-high 28 strikeouts and 4 stolen bases. Luis Rengifo also has a team-high 7 stolen bases as well. The Angels will play against the Phillies following this series.

Los Angeles Angels Team Facts

  • The underdogs have won five of the last six games between the Twins and Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
  • The Angels have failed to cover the run line in each of their last 10 Saturday games as favorites against American League opponents.
  • The Angels have trailed after 3 innings in each of their last three games as favorites against American League opponents.
  • The Angels have trailed after 5 innings in four of their last five games as favorites against American League opponents.
  • The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Angels’ last six games against AL Central opponents.

Minnesota Twins vs LA Angels prediction

I’m going to roll with the Angels here. I think this is the best shot for the Angels to win a game for the rest of this series as Chris Paddack’s been more than hittable and it’s going to take more than one good start against the White Sox to convince me of that. Soriano has pitched fairly well this season in a limited starter’s capacity, and I think the Twins can do enough at the plate to get to him early and often and do enough on the mound to ride it out and get a much-needed win. Give me the Halos in this one.
