The Philadelphia Phillies and the Los Angeles Angels meet Tuesday in MLB action from Angel Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a LA Angels vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction.
Starting Pitching Matchup
The Philadelphia Phillies will be sending Spencer Turnbull to the mound and Turnbull is 2-0 with a 1.33 ERA and 30 strikeouts this season. This will be Turnbull’s first career start against the Angels. Tyler Anderson will start for the Angels here and is 2-3 with a 1.78 ERA and 21 strikeouts this season. In his career, Anderson is 2-2 with a 5.56 ERA and 29 strikeouts against Philadelphia.
Philadelphia Phillies Recap
The Philadelphia Phillies will be on the hunt to bounce back after starting the series with a 6-5 loss to the Angels on Monday, failing to build on their three-game sweep of the Padres from the weekend. The Phillies jumped out on the Angels early, taking a 3-0 lead in the 1st, but fell behind in the later innings and despite a run in the top of the 9th, Brandon Marsh couldn’t get the job done despite multiple opportunities with runners in scoring position.
Turner Leading Charge For Phils
Trea Turner leads the Phillies with 43 hits including 10 doubles and 7 stolen bases with a .344 batting average while Kyle Schwarber has a team-high 7 home runs with 44 strikeouts this season. Bryce Harper’s added 5 doubles, 6 home runs and 18 RBIs while Alec Bohm has a team-high 29 RBIs as well as a team-high 12 doubles of his own and Brandon Marsh also has 6 home runs and 17 RBIs this season.

Los Angeles Angels Recap
The Los Angeles Angels got the much-needed win in Monday’s opener after tough sweeps by the Twins and Reds as well as a series loss to the Orioles in the last three series. Los Angeles trailed for a lot of the game, but 2-run 6th and 7th innings helped surge the Halos in front and take a lead that the Phils couldn’t come back from.
Ward & Trout Leading Anemic Angel Offense
Taylor Ward leads the Angels with 32 hits along with 7 home runs and a team-high 23 RBIs. Mike Trout has a team-high 10 home runs along with a pair of triples and 6 stolen bases while Zach Neto has a team-high 32 strikeouts and 4 stolen bases. LA Angels vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction
I’m on the Phillies here. They broke my heart on Monday letting the opener get away, but stringing together back-to-back wins is not something we’re used to seeing from this Angels group and Turnbull’s been a pretty solid option for them up to this point. Tyler Anderson’s been solid for the Angels as well, but for me it’s pretty telling that he has a sub-2.00 ERA and a losing record, and it’s telling me he doesn’t get run support. Even if he does, Anderson is a pitcher that’s usually good for an ERA in the high fours or low fives and I think it’s a matter of time before he gets back to that form. Give me the Phillies here.
