In this article we will formulate a Dodgers vs Mets prediction for this MLB game on Friday, April 19th at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Let’s take a look at the prediction for game one in this series.

Dodgers Preview

The Los Angeles Dodgers are 12-9 this year and they have lost five of their last seven games. Los Angeles is coming off of a series loss against the Nationals, where they dropped two out of three games. Prior to that series, the Dodgers lost two out of three against San Diego and won two out of three against the Twins. The LA pitching staff has a 4.14 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP, and a .219 opponent batting average. The Dodgers offense has scored 106 runs with a .265 batting average and a .338 on base percentage. Mookie Betts is batting .369 with six home runs and 18 RBI’s for the Dodgers. The projected starting pitcher for LA is Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP over 16.0 innings pitched this year.

Mets Preview

The New York Mets are 10-8 this season and they have won six of their last seven games. New York is coming off of a series win against the Pirates, where they won all three games by scores of 9-1, 3-1, and 6-3. Prior to that series, the Mets won two out of three against the Royals and Braves. The New York pitching staff has a 3.15 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP, and a .221 opponent batting average. The Mets offense has scored 87 runs with a .245 batting average and a .329 on base percentage. Pete Alonso is batting .261 with six home runs and 10 RBI’s for the Mets. Dodgers vs Mets Prediction

The Dodgers come into this series really struggling over their last seven games and they could use a series win this weekend. LA lost two out of three to the Nationals at home in their last series, but they are still 8-6 at home. New York has played really well after their tough start to the season and they have allowed a total of six runs in their last four games. New York is starting Sean Manaea, who pitched very well in his first two starts, but allowed six earned runs and nine hits over 3.2 innings in his last start against the Royals. The Dodgers are going with Yamamoto, who allowed five earned runs in his first start, but has allowed three earned runs and nine hits over his last three starts (15.0 IP). These two teams are heading in opposite directions, but I do like Yamamoto and I think he will give the Dodgers a strong start. Take LA -1.5 here.
