The Cleveland Guardians and the Miami Marlins meet Sunday in MLB action from LoanDepot Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Miami Marlins vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Cleveland Guardians will send out Carlos Carrasco for the start here and Carrasco is 2-5 with a 5.66 ERA and 39 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against Miami, Carrasco is 2-2 with a 4.33 ERA and 21 strikeouts. Miami will send out Trevor Rogers for the start here and Rogers is 1-7 with a 5.68 ERA and 47 strikeouts this season. This will be Rogers’ first career start against Cleveland.

Cleveland Guardians Recap

The Cleveland Guardians come into this one looking to win the rubber match of the series after knocking off the Marlins by a final score of 8-0 on Saturday. The win gave the Guardians a chance to keep their series unbeaten streak alive after splitting with the Royals earlier this week and beating the Nationals last weekend.

Guardians Looking For Consistency Offensively Despite Solid Record

Jose Ramirez leads the Guardians with 67 hits as well as 18 home runs and 61 RBIs while Josh Naylor also has 16 home runs and 47 RBIs of his own. Ramirez has a team-high 13 doubles while Tyler Freeman has 12 doubles and Andres Gimenez has 33 RBIs with a team-high 9 stolen bases as well this season.

Why the Cleveland Guardians will win

  • The Marlins have lost eight of their last nine games against American League opponents following a home loss.
  • The road team has won five of the Marlins’ last six games.
  • The Marlins have failed to cover the run line in each of their last nine home games against American League opponents after playing the previous day.
  • The road team has covered the run line in five of the Marlins’ last six games.
  • The Guardians have led after 3 innings in each of their last four road day games.
  • The Marlins have trailed after 5 innings in each of their last four day games at LoanDepot Park against American League opponents.

Miami Marlins Recap

The Miami Marlins will look to bounce back and win the series finale after their loss to the Guardians on Saturday. The loss puts the Marlins at risk of yet another series loss after being swept by the Rays as well as series losses to the Rangers and Padres over the last week and a half.

Marlins Trying To Drum Up Offense

Bryan De La Cruz leads the Marlins with 62 hits including 10 doubles, 11 home runs and 28 RBIs while Josh Bell has 12 doubles, 7 home runs and 31 RBIs of his own. Jazz Chisholm Jr. has 60 hits with 11 doubles, 8 home runs, 30 RBIs and a team-high 12 stolen bases while Jesus Sanchez has 6 stolen bases as well this season.

Why the Miami Marlins will win

  • The Guardians have lost each of their last five games as favorites against National League opponents following a road win.
  • The Marlins have won each of their last four games as underdogs against AL Central opponents following a loss.
  • The Marlins have covered the run line in each of their last seven day games against AL Central opponents following a loss.
  • The Guardians have failed to cover the run line in each of their last seven games following a win.

Miami Marlins vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction

I’m on the over here. I don’t trust either starting pitcher as far as I can throw them, as Carlos Carrasco has had a history of being batting practice for opposing teams on the road this year, and Trevor Rogers has been as well overall this season and the Guardians have been known for tearing the cover off of the ball against southpaws. I think this is going to be a higher-scoring game than one would expect, so give me the over here.
