The Atlanta Braves and the Milwaukee Brewers meet in game two of their three-game MLB weekend series from American Family Field on Saturday. Atlanta emerged victorious in game one of the series on Friday, can they get a second win here or will the Brew Crew force a rubber match on Sunday? Let’s dive in and find out.

Atlanta Braves Team Preview

The Atlanta Braves rode a red-hot June and early July into the all-star break to own the best record in baseball at the all-star break, but they were struggling to start the second half. The Braves have started to rekindle some of that magic though, winning back-to-back games following their 6-4 win over Milwaukee on Saturday. Ronald Acuna Jr. leads the Braves with 127 hits and a .328 batting average along with 44 stolen bases to lead MLB in that category. Acuna Jr. also has 23 homers and 58 RBIs while Matt Olson leads the Braves with 32 home runs and 80 RBIs this season. Ozzie Albies and Austin Riley make up the other two Braves bats with 20+ HR so far this season. The Braves did not have a starting pitcher announced at the time that this article was posted.

Milwaukee Brewers Team Preview

The Milwaukee Brewers came out of the gate hot in the second half of the season, sweeping the Reds and winning 5 of 6 before falling short in Friday’s series opener. The recent run has surged the Brew Crew to the top of the NL Central, but with all of the talent in that division, the NL Central is expected to be hotly contested over the next couple of months, as it has been all season to this point. Christian Yelich has a team-high 102 hits and 54 RBIs with 14 home runs and a .287 batting average this season. Willy Adames has a team-high 17 home runs with 48 RBIs while William Contreras, Joey Wiemer and Rowdy Tellez all have double-digit home runs so far this season. Adrian Houser will start for the Brewers and is 3-2 with a 3.79 ERA and 39 strikeouts this season.

Chris’ Pick

I have to pick the Braves in this game. It would be nice to know who they’re starting here, but that’s only part of the equation anyways. The Braves, despite their struggles out of the break, have still been clubbing right-handed pitching over the last week or so and I haven’t been able to feel comfortable backing Adrian Houser for much of the season. The Brewers are a solid team, but I just think the Braves are better across the board and as such, I’ll side with Atlanta for the W here.
