In this article, we will formulate a Milwaukee Brewers vs NY Mets Prediction for this MLB game 3 on Thursday, October 3rd at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Let’s take a look at the prediction for game three in this NL Wild Card series.

Mets Blew Game 2

The Mets were only two innings away from making the NLDS, but they blew the second game, and now they have to win this game to not have their season end here. In the first game of this series the Mets were able to secure the 8-4 victory and on Wednesday they were up 3-2 heading into the 8th inning. In the 8th inning, though, they gave up three runs and that led to the 5-3 victory. Phil Maton was awful going one inning giving up four hits and three runs. Francisco Lindor finished with two walks and one hit. Brandon Nimmo finished with one hit and one run.

Jose Quintana will start for the Mets. He finished the regular season with a 10-10 record and an ERA of 3.75. In his last start against the Milwaukee Brewers, he went 4.1 innings, giving up five hits and two runs. In the previous three starts, though, he gave up zero runs.

Why the Mets Will Beat the Brewers

  • The Mets have won each of their last six Thursday games as underdogs against National League opponents.
  • The Brewers have lost four of their last five playoff games as favorites.
  • The Mets have covered the run line in each of their last seven Thursday games as underdogs.
  • The Brewers have failed to cover the run line in six of their last seven home playoff games.
  • The Mets have led after 3 innings in six of their last eight games as road underdogs against NL Central opponents.
  • The Brewers have trailed after 5 innings in four of their last five playoff games as home favorites.

Brewers Season Saved Late

After losing the first game, the Brewers looked to be in trouble, but they came back late, and that led to the victory. Down 3-2, Jackson Chourio hit a home run to tie the game. A few batters later, Garrett Mitchell hit a two home run and that led to the victory. Chourio finished the game with two solo home runs. The Brewers might have got a little lucky with Frankie Montas who went 3.2 innings giving up six hits and one run. In this game, the offense needs to get out to a fast start and really try to put the pressure on.

Getting the start for the Brewers will be Tobias Myers, who finished the regular season with a 9-6 record and an ERA of 3.00. His last appearance came against the Mets, and he went four innings, giving up one hit and zero runs.

Milwaukee Brewers vs NY Mets Prediction

Give me the Mets here. I do have a bit of a concern about how they looked in the last game and blew it, but they are still going to find success here. Quintana wasn’t as dominant in the last game against the Brewers, but over the last four games he has given up only two runs total. The Brewers are going to really struggle to get the offense going here, and the Mets will get the job done. Back the Mets.
