In this article we will formulate a Minnesota Twins vs Colorado Rockies prediction for this MLB game on Tuesday, June 11th at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Let’s take a look at the prediction for game two in the series.

Twins Look for Three Straight Wins

The Minnesota Twins are 35-31 this year and they have won two games in a row. Minnesota won game one in this series by a score of 5-0 on Monday night. Prior to this series, the Twins lost two out of three against the Pirates, lost all three against the Yankees, and won two out of three against the Astros. Minnesota is just 3-6 in their last nine games and they are third in the AL Central behind Cleveland and Kansas City.

The Minnesota pitching staff has a 4.18 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP, and a .242 opponent batting average. The Twins offense has scored 287 runs with a .230 batting average and a .303 on base percentage. Carlos Santana is batting .214 with nine home runs and 27 RBI’s for the Twins this season. Minnesota is 21st in team ERA this season and they have allowed at least five runs in seven of their last twelve games.

Rockies Continue Their Road Struggles

The Colorado Rockies are 23-43 this season and they have lost three of their last four games. Colorado dropped game one in this series on Monday and didn’t score any runs in the loss. Prior to this series, the Rockies split four games with the Cardinals, lost all three against the Reds, and lost two out of three against the Dodgers. Colorado is just 2-8 in their last 10 games and they are 10-26 on the road this season, which puts them dead last in the NL West.

The Colorado pitching staff has a 5.32 ERA, a 1.52 WHIP, and a .281 opponent batting average. The Rockies offense has scored 264 runs with a .245 batting average and a .306 on base percentage. Ezequiel Tovar is batting .293 with 10 home runs and 28 RBI’s for the Rockies this season. Colorado is last in the MLB in team ERA this year and they have allowed five runs or more in six of their last eight games.

Starting Pitchers

The projected starting pitcher for Minnesota is Louie Varland, who is 0-4 with a 9.18 ERA and a 2.16 WHIP over 16.2 innings pitched this year. Varland has allowed at least four earned runs in three straight starts and he has allowed a total of 14 earned runs in those three outings across 12.2 innings. The projected starting pitcher for Colorado is Cal Quantrill, who is 5-4 with a 3.58 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP over 73.0 innings pitched this season. Quantrill has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five starts, but did allow four earned runs and nine hits over 4.1 innings against the Dodgers two starts ago.

Why the Colorado Rockies will win

The Twins have lost four of their last five night games against National League opponents following a home win.
The Rockies have won six of their last eight road games against AL Central opponents following a road loss.
The Rockies have covered the run line in eight of their last 10 games against American League opponents.
The Twins have failed to cover the run line in eight of their last nine Tuesday home games against National League opponents.

Total Runs Facts

Eight of the Rockies’ last nine road games against AL Central opponents have gone UNDER the total runs line.
Five of the last six games between the Rockies and Twins at Target Field have gone UNDER the total runs line.
The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Twins’ last five night games against National League opponents.

Minnesota Twins vs Colorado Rockies Prediction

Minnesota was able to get the shutout win in game one of this series on Monday night and they will look for their third straight win here. The Twins have been a very streaky team so far this season and they are 17-13 at home. Colorado is just 10-26 on the road, but they are starting Cal Quantrill, who has been very good over the last month. Minnesota is going with Louie Varland, who has only made four appearances this year, but he has not pitched well at all. Colorado is one of the worst teams in the MLB and they have been awful on the road, but Quantrill has been rolling lately and I don’t believe in Varland. My Minnesota Twins vs Colorado Rockies prediction is for the Rockies to get the road win.
