The Los Angeles Angels and the Minnesota Twins meet in an MLB matchup from Target Field on Saturday.
The Los Angeles Angels will look to build on their 4-2 win over the Twins from Friday’s matchup. Entering Friday, Mike Trout has 108 hits, 21 doubles, 73 RBIs and 36 home runs while Jared Walsh has 44 RBIs and Shohei Ohtani has 145 hits while adding 28 doubles, 34 home runs and 89 RBIs. Taylor Ward also has a .272 batting average as well this season. Reid Detmers will start here and is 6-5 with a 3.71 ERA and 111 strikeouts this season.
The Minnesota Twins will try to bounce back from their loss at the hands of the Angels on Friday. Going into Friday, Luis Arraez has 161 hits including a team-high 29 doubles while also posting a .313 batting average. Byron Buxton also has 76 hits with a team-high 28 home runs and 51 RBIs and Gary Sanchez has 22 doubles this season. Jorge Polanco has 88 hits and 56 RBIs and Max Kepler has 43 RBIs as well on the year, while Carlos Correa’s also added 139 hits. Joe Ryan will start here and is 12-8 with a 3.61 ERA and 138 strikeouts this season.
Los Angeles is 4-0 in their last 4 Saturday games and 2-6 in their last 8 road games while the under is 4-0-2 in their last 6 Saturday games. Minnesota is 1-5 in their last 6 game two matchups and 7-19 in their last 26 games following a loss while the under is 26-8-5 in their last 39 games against the AL West.
I get the reasoning for backing either side here, as Joe Ryan’s been rock solid at home, but the Twins have fallen apart while the Angels are out of it themselves, but Reid Detmers has been one of their better options over the course of the season. I’ll side with the under here as I expect a low-scoring game and maybe a bit of a pitcher’s duel here. Give me the under.
