Los Angeles Angels
The Angels took on the Guardians over the weekend, losing two of the three games in that set. On Monday versus Baltimore, Los Angeles scored five runs in the fourth inning and had 17 team hits in a 9-5 win. Starter Shohei Ohtani put up 7.0 innings with five earned on four hits and two walks.
For the starting pitcher gig in the Tuesday matchup, the Angels will go with Chase Silseth. Over his four games (zero starts) in 2023, Silseth has a 3.24 ERA without a decision and five strikeouts over 8.1 total innings.
Baltimore Orioles
Over on the Baltimore side, they played the Pirates in their last series and won two of the three games. On Monday the Orioles had a 4-3 lead briefly but lost it in the fourth. Grayson Rodriguez lasted 3.1 innings in the start with eight earned on nine hits and three walks.
It’ll be Dean Kremer on the mound for the start on Tuesday. Across his eight starts so far Kremer is 4-1 with a 4.97 ERA and 32 Ks in 41.2 innings. Kremer is 13-16 with a 4.63 career ERA in 47 games (46 starts).
The Angels are 4-1 in their last five Tuesday games and 1-4 in their last five in game two of a series. The under is 5-0 in LA’s last five Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 5-1 in their last six Tuesday games and 21-6 in their last 27 versus the AL West. Baltimore is 20-8 in their last 28 overall.

I’m going to stay with Baltimore here. Kremer had some difficulties versus Detroit late last month (five earned; 5.0 innings in a loss) but since then he’s been great. Kremer has 12.0 combined innings with just one earned over his last two starts, winning both. On Monday Baltimore had one really bad inning that they couldn’t recover from, and Rodriguez had a rough evening overall. Ohtani going 7.0 innings will help out LA’s pen over the next couple of days, but I still like the Orioles to bounce back with a victory in game two to even it up.
